Schezwan Sauce

SCHEZWAN SAUCE

Hi friends! How are you all? Today i am sharing with you guys one of the most famous sauce now-a-days. It can be used as a dip sauce or in different recipes. It can be used with you sandwiches, pizza, rolls, noodles, fried rice etc. This sauce is very unique and is best for people who love spices or spicy food in general. It is very famous in India. It required basic things mostly available at home. It is really easy. As it is Ramadan so we have fried food made in my home everyday so i thought to make some sauce to go with them. It literally took me 20 minutes to make this sauce. I hope you try this sauce. Do give a review on how you found it. So lets get started!








INGREDIENTS:

  • Kashmiri Red Chili: 8-10 (soaked in water)
  • Button Red Chili: 6-7
  • Water: 2 tbs or as required
  • Oil (used for cooking): 1/3 cup
  • Garlic (chopped): 3 tbs
  • Ginger (chopped): 1 & 1/2 tbs
  • Water: 1/2 cup or as required
  • Tomato Ketchup: 3-4 tbs
  • Sugar: 1 &1/2 tbs
  • Salt: 1/2 tsp or as required
  • Soy Sauce: 2 tbs
  • Vinegar: 2 tbs
  • Black Pepper (crushed or powdered): 1/2 tbs




METHOD: 

  1. In a food processor or grinder, add Kashmiri red chili, button red chili and 2 tbs water. Grind togather to make a fine paste and set aside.
  2. In a frying pan, add cooking oil, garlic and ginger. Mix well.
  3. Now add the chili paste, mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add 1/2 cup water and continue to mis
  5. Cover the pan and cook on low flame for next 2-3 minutes.
  6. Now add tomato ketchup, sugar, salt, soy sauce, vinegar and black pepper. Mix well.
  7. Cover with a lid and continue to cook on low flame, stirring in between, until oil separates and come on the top.
  8. Let it cool down. Pour it in a bowl or a bottle
  9. Can be stored in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks in an air tight container or bottle.
